JASZ-n-jazz is a jazz trombone trio / percussion group.  It is an offshoot of the Emergence Brass Band. Unlike the high energy pop of the full brass band, JASZ-n-jazz plays music to relax to.  Selections will mostly come from Julie Stenberg Zeidel’s library of her original compositions, with a smattering of classical covers.  Julie studied jazz trombone and jazz theory at Berklee School of Music in Boston, and received an MFA in music composition from the Vermont College of Fine Arts.  Other members of the group are music educator Frederick Ballew; retired engineer Greg Michnay; and music educator Maggie Zeidel.  All musicians play trombone in a number of groups around the Twin Cities area.
