Jordan Anderson is an 18 year old jazz pianist who has been playing the piano since he was 7. He took jazz piano lessons at Walker West Music Academy in middle school and began studying with local Twin Cities musician Peter Schimke in high school. He has been a part of various Walker West Jazz Ensembles, played with The Dakota Combo and MYJB for two years in a row and now is majoring in Jazz Studies at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. At the University of Michigan he is fortunate enough to be privately studying with the great Benny Green and the rest of school’s esteemed faculty. A young upcoming musician, Jordan has performed for years at venues such as the Black Dog, The Reverie, The Bedlam Theater, The Dakota, and Jazz Central Studios. And for the past two years he has been performing for Five Watt Coffee’s “SundayService”, providing two hours of live music with a Hammond M3 organ.
