WILKINSON JAMES have been performing their distinctive blend of blues, folk, and honky-tonk in and around the Twin Cities area since singer-songwriters Liz Wilkinson and AJ Scheiber first met up in 2008. A fan once described their original songs as “the bastard offspring of Townes Van Zandt and June Carter Cash.” Over time the simple folk duo evolved into a band, as the addition of a saxophonist and a dobro player expanded the Wilkinson James sound to include touches of swing, torch, and alt-country. Their most recent record, “Abandon,” was released on St. Paul’s House of Mercy Recordings in Fall 2016 and features a moody collection of original songs that show the growing stylistic range of the group.
Tucker Jensen and Tim DeJonge make up Tucker and Tim, an incredibly original and inventive name for a musical duo. Bonding over their shared love for good music and the TV Show The Office, they built a friendship and began playing music together. They began an almost weekly series called Tuesdays with Tucker and Tim, where they would sing covers and mash-ups. These videos can be found on YouTube by searching “Tuesdays with Tucker and Tim”. They are a dynamic duo who play off of each other’s musical abilities to create a sound that is easy to listen to. Both list Blues, Soul, Pop, and Country music as influential genres. They are better at making music than they are at writing bios. Any day of the week can be Tuesday with Tucker and Tim

For several years a group of people who love the vigorous traditional music of French-Canada, particularly Québec, have gathered for mutual learning and jamming at the Blackbird Music Store in Minneapolis. The jam is led by well-known fiddler Linda Breitag, who spent years studying and performing Québecois music and culture, and has been generously sharing her knowledge and inspiration with local musicians. The group includes musicians who play fiddle, flute, accordion, guitar, mandolin and foot tapping. We welcome musicians of all levels of experience who wish to participate in the magic of Québecois music.
